Ghost Car have a keyboard and drum-propelled sound that’s slender and ferocious in equal measure – fuzzy lyrical preludes switching into shimmering, empowered waves of noise and melody.
Love L.U.V. are a lipstick and leather attack on the senses; a shot straight from Bonnie’s gun into your heart, all rough keyboard spurts, dreamy guitar rhythms, sugar rush drums and crashingly ecstatic vocals, with flickers of 60s garage and glimmers of 80s power pop.
Kid Gloves meanwhile have a collection of songs that come in with the tides of summer; rolling with a gentle skip and a shimmer, hearts as big as clouds, with the genuine lyrical engagement of their reference points in the margins of 80s and 90s janglepop. Their debut LP Body Clock is waiting in the wings.
Then at 10.30, Kerouac’s bandanna will drift onto the lampshade with the touch of a Crystals’ chorus, dimming the lights for the ghosts of 60s Pop, gospel soul, rock’n’roll, jive, indiepop, new wave, post-punk and klezmer till the milkman comes!
