It’s been half a decade since Tall Heights kicked off their career in Boston’s Faneuil Hall, busking for more than 100 days to help fund their very first EP. With Paul Wright on cello and Tim Harrington strumming on an acoustic guitar, and both bandmates would sing, their voices cutting through the noise of shoppers and tourists. Since those days, the duo’s harmony-heavy indie folk has taken Tall Heights from the marketplaces and coffee houses of Massachusetts to stages across the country.
In 2015, Tall Heights released the EP Holding On, Holding Out which was met with critical acclaim. On this EP they beef up their previously acoustic sound with electronics, drum loops, synthesizers, Casio keyboards and plenty of shimmer and shine. Their sounds has been compared to a wide range of artistsfrom Simon & Garfunkel to Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens and The Postal Service. Their studio album, Neptune, featuring their hit “Spirit Cold” came out on August 19th on Sony Music Masterworks.
