// ALBERT MAN //

Albert Man, the half-German Mancunian, is a solo singer-songwriter based in London. Albert emerged on to the music scene in 2014 with his piano-led, melodic pop songs and has been a regular on the London gig circuit ever since. The UK’s answer to Ben Folds is described as a modern day Elvis Costello with a bit of Jarvis Cocker thrown into the mix. He has just recently been on London Live and BalconyTV, was one of the Coffee Music Project finalists, performed at The London Coffee Festival, showcased at Caffè Nero during UK Coffee Week, played at The O2 Priority Lounge before Muse, and was a part of an emerging artist night at The Piano Works and Hotel Café Royal. // EMMA BALLANTINE //

With a record that went to no. 15 in the iTunes charts following a sell-out launch at The Bedford, and a song featured by Q Magazine as Track of The Day, Emma Ballantine is rapidly gaining recognition for powerful songwriting and a ‘shape-shifting vocal gift’ (Gigslutz).

Since releasing her first EP, the multi-instrumentalist has had support from BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing and a range of local stations, with Glamour Magazine tipping her as ‘One to Watch in 2016’ and Resonance FM describing her as ‘a unique voice among modern songwriters’. She was also shortlisted in a competition for emerging artists run by Gigwise and Radio One.

Emma has played at London venues including Hard Rock Cafe, The Bedford and The Barfly, as well as completing four UK tours and two to Germany. She is currently working on new material for release this year and preparing for a string of festival dates this summer.

** SPECIAL GUEST **

Four years ago, John Atkins (“The Ukulele Teacher”) started making monthly Ukulele lessons on his phone, in his bedroom, as a joke for a friend…

Today he creates two lessons a week, Ukulele cover versions, and has close to a half-a-million subscribers to his YouTube channel.

Earlier this year, he was one of six people to be selected to work with the chart-topping musician and top producer Mark Ronson at Abbey Road Studios in London to do an Uptown Funk cover which was used as promotion for the BRIT Awards.

It’s an honour to announce that he’ll be performing a song with Albert Man on the night!

// HOST //

Our host for the evening will be the wonderful Miranda Roszkowski!

Miranda Roszkowski is from Swansea, and is a writer, actor and storyteller whose career is about as varied as her heritage.

She has worked in theatre, film and TV and recently set up (self-proclaimed) Clapton’s cosiest short story night, “There Goes The Neighbourhood” which she hosts once a month in her adopted home of Hackney. She has worked with the Royal Court and National Theatre of Wales as a playwright and is currently developing her first novel. Her writing is inspired by J. D. Salinger, Miranda July and Nancy Drew mysteries. In many ways, so is her day-to-day life smile emoticon

She is very excited to present this cracking line-up and their sonic sagas.
