Let the spook start for this unholy month of October, Flash Delirium, Paper Dress Vintage and Hello Again Hackney are glad to bring you PREGOBLIN, Black Bordello and Minimal Schlager for an intimate but quality night at the legendary Paper Dress Vintage !
PREGOBLIN: A collaboration between Alex Sebley and Jessica Winter. There have been a few incarnations of the band but it’s when Alex and Jess met in 2016 it fell into place. Before Pregoblin formed, Alex was a member of The Saudis, alonsgside Lias and Nathan Saoudi, and Jessica is a producer and writer and has worked with members of Gorillaz, Fat White Family, and Dinosaur Pile Up.
Black Bordello: Sienna Bordello’s deeply emotional vocals have garnered comparisons to Kate Bush, but there are also traces of Debbie Harry here. The sheer sonic depth of this record is a key strength: every song is an experience in and of itself, every song a point on the map of Bordello’s world. Strong vocals certainly lead the way, but echoing strings and jazzy percussion expand the songs into full-sized musical meals sure to engage listeners from start to finish.
Minimal Schlager: is the moniker of Fran Parisi, who manifests his minimal beats with crushing bass synths; along with his sister Alicia, who provides a dynamic range of vocals ranging from whispers, screams, and incantations, overlaid on top of the rhythmic music. Together the pair of musicians produce sounds and melodies that blend industrial, psychedelics, and confessional storytelling.
