Hackney Folk Club Presents
What is a Folk Club?
A coming together of people interested in, and to celebrate and enjoy, the Traditional and Ancient Music of any given culture. We learn from the past to inform the future. We start the evening with French born songwriter and local folk legend Clémentine March to get us in the groove.
About Anna Mieke:
Inspiration for her songwriting stems from a colourful background of experience; learning Maori songs at school in New Zealand, cycling through Europe, learning traditional songs in Bulgaria and playing cello in the Cork-based experimental improv group, HEX. She is currently working towards a second album. Anna Mieke is also one-third of the singing trio Rufous Nightjar, whose debut album is set for release in 2022.
