Eat Your Own Ears presents The Rills at Paper Dress Vintage.
“The Rills are dead! Long live The Rills” says frontman & guitarist Mitch Spencer. “We want to create something new from the old ways” adds bassist Callum Warner-Webb. The two have humble beginnings on the skateparks of Lincoln, forming nearly-bands over a decade ago. “We like to keep moving, it’s sink or swim” jolts drummer Mason Cassar, also testing the waters in bands around Essex.
Bound by a love of Arctic Monkeys & garage rock, The Rills have found inspiration from contemporaries like IDLES and Fontaines DC. A DIY ethos permeates through everything The Rills do. “We’ve always taken things into our own hands. TikTok was our way of taking control & doing things our own way” Mitch explains about the band’s explosion onto the scene in 2020. The band made what they describe as “funny, stupid videos” on the app during lockdown which gathered them a huge international audience.
The band are now set for an eerily well-timed Halloween release of their new single ‘Bones’, a whirlwind of lyrical zingers & loaded with that infectious chaos they do so well.
