InFireworks presents Alex Saint Ivy + Pilot Light

Limited tickets available HERE

Alex Saint Ivy’s music is best described as “the sound of suburban frustration”. Despite growing up in a UK town best known for its roundabouts and now half empty shopping centre, his songwriting takes inspiration from classic American artists like Tom Petty, Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen and then mixes them up with more modern influences like Hiss Golden Messenger, Ben Kweller and early 00s one hit wonders The New Radicals.

Starting out playing the obligatory open mic nights as a one man, one guitar songwriter in his early teens, he moved onto a series of progressively less mediocre ‘Alternative’ bands, gigging and touring as much as possible in his early 20s. After a short stint living in the south of France, and a series of office jobs in London, Alex Saint Ivy is now (mostly) following the age-old adage of ‘write what you know’.

“I like to think I write songs that talk about big, sometimes difficult things by focussing on the little details and tiny moments that make up people’s day to day lives” he says. And it’s certainly true, Alex Saint Ivy writes songs that are about things, big and small.

In this, his launch show at Paper Dress Vintage in Hackney, he hopes to showcase this to you, his people.
