New and recently formed independent record label Ode to Records launch party featuring Gemma Rogers, Baby Brave and introducing Tabi. Ode to Records is set to release Gemma’s new EP, NO FUTURE on limited edition 12inch vinyl on 20th Sept 2024, and will follow this up with a full album release by Baby Brave in the new year.
GEMMA ROGERS
Gemma Rogers’ sound combines punk edginess with luxurious synthpop and undeniably catchy songs that capture raw energy and a unique and often ingenious take on lyric writing alike.
Gemma’s new EP (out Sept 20) is her most confident, varied and engaging release yet and shows the full breadth of her sound, the EP features two recent singles – ‘DKU’, which elicited a host of BBC 6Music plays from Steve Lamacq, Amy Lame and Chris Hawkins and support from Jon Kennedy (Radio X), with Louder Than War premiering its darkly hilarious video, and also the very well received, corruption-bashing anthem ‘Coming For The Top’.
BABY BRAVE
Fronted by singer Emma Manteau, the very embodiment of northwest indie, Wrexham’s Baby Brave clash the elements of postpunk with an intersection of funk and disco. Choppy guitars reimagine Chic, Talking Heads or even the Yeah Yeah Yeahs but with an A55 point of view.
TABI
Brand new artist from Brighton whose inspirations stem from legendary artists like Sinead O’Connor, Fiona Apple, Amy Winehouse, and Mazzy Star. TABI is a mental health activist, and real-life experiences and emotions come through in each song she creates. A provocative performer who has just picked up A-list management. Not to be missed .
