BARBICAN ESTATE
Don’t let the name fool you: the members of psych rock group Barbican Estate didn’t actually grow up there – the Tokyo act are just big fans of Brutalist architecture.
References to titans of art and culture are common for them, and they’ve cited the Beat Generation, William Blake, Greek mythology, and Russian director Andrei Tarkovsky as influences. “We seek to embody an art that is not limited by the concept of music,” said guitarist Kazuki Toneri.
BLACK HELIUM
Black Helium are a three piece psychedelic rock band based in London. Never afraid to stray from the beaten path, Stuart Gray, Beck Harvey and Diogo Gomes fearlessly traverse aural hallucinatory soundscapes; from detuned Neanderthal rock to deep oceans of introspective blissed out psych.
HELLA MORGAN
Hella Morgan is a London Rock band playing spooky, heavy, raunchy Rock and Roll. Steered by vocalist/writer/guitarist, Ella Morgan, the band’s songs depict the devil and depravity (in all their mysterious forms) with wit and honesty.
These genre-benders reference decades past and future, with a sound both familiar and fresh, all spiced with electrifying lead vocals, flaming bendy guitar lines and irresistibly solid grooves.
The band delivers a whirlwind of a set to get crowds swooning and stomping.
Influences include: Janis Joplin, Alice in Chains, Dire Straits, Jack White, Led Zeppelin, Ty Segal, The Dead Weather, Queens of the Stone Age…
