Club Precious has rapidly established a reputation as a must-see attraction on the London indie scene. Club Precious #6 is an album launch show for Cult Figures, those chroniclers of modern madness who are releasing their fourth LP Reports of People in April on Precious Recordings of London.
Expect to hear plenty of songs from this fantastic new release – a melody map from pop to punk and back again – plus some old favourites. Maybe even ‘Zip Nolan’, their classic dating back to their origins on Swell Maps’ Rather Records in the late 1970s. You never know.
Support comes from indie pop melody masters Silver Biplanes, featuring the husband-and-wife team of Tim and Vanessa Vass – formerly of Razorcuts and Melons respectively. Their four-track EP ‘Coming Up for Air’ was recently released on Precious.
Also on the bill are dreamy Brighton-based duo Dreamcoaster, whose sound has distinct of Slowdive, Lush and a hint of C86 jangle. They’ve just released their third album ‘Imaginary Reflections’ on Shelflife and Duck Race Records to critical acclaim – “fabulous, so warm and catchy,” suggested BBC Radio 6 Music.
