Do You Love People? w/ Francobollo, To Arms Etc & Fox Solo

FREE ENTRY!!
We welcome the Do You Love People? crew to Paper Dress for their end of year special, this is what they have to say about their little shindig…

FRANCOBOLLO (www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2S6VwfHwpI). These shirtless Swedes are replete with catchy tunes and an awesome live show. Musically there’s a sort of 90s/slacker/drunk thing going on, yet they pull it off in a way that sounds totally fresh and is, if you listen closely, fiendishly well-played. No exaggeration: Francobollo are ones to watch.

TO ARMS ETC (www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwFYRJ925OY). Weird songs for normal people? Normal songs for weirdos? No matter – To Arms Etc are complex, catchy, fun and at times very, very heavy, and they have brand new material to perform.

‘FOX SOLO’ BY FOXY AND HUSK (www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bo4alS846Xg). To commence the evening in a big, weird way, our friend Foxy will reprise a performance commissioned for this year’s Glasgay! festival. The Scottish Herald certainly approved: “…‘Fox Solo’ – featuring Foxy without Husk – was a toast (in Foxy’s favourite tipple, milk) to love and heartbreak. Can different species ever find happiness together? Foxy’s own fabulously hybrid appearance is a cleverly sustained portal into topical issues about social, sexual and gender divides…****”

Special late-night guest: BRÉMOND (www.youtube.com/watch?v=NY_pFhpPTA8). We love, love, love Brémond! Transcendent Frenchman, maverick electrojazz composer-MC, sensual philosopher – all these things and more, he will have carte blanche to express himself, however he feels, after the guitars fade. Oh, and did we mention saxophones?

Free entry! And free cake, if you arrive early enough! Performances start at 8pm.
