HIDDEN DOOR CLUB vs 96 TEARS ft Oh! Gunquit, New Electric Ride & Love L.U.V.

For one night only, Hidden Door and 96 Tears are descending on vintage clothing emporium Paper Dress for an evening of psych, garage, soul, and rock’n’roll. Free entry ‘til it’s full, £3 after.

LIVE (8pm-11pm):

OH! GUNQUIT

Most bands don’t have a saxophone player. Very few indeed have someone doing hula hoops. Oh! Gunquit have a singer that does both. If you can imagine the B-52s in a tiki bar on bad-behaviour instructions, you’ll have a vague idea of what this band is all about – suf

Suffice to say, you can’t afford to miss these guys.

NEW ELECTRIC RIDE

If you like intricate, slightly demented psychedelia imbued with an almost-unhealthy dose of imagination, you’ll love New Electric Ride. Their debut album ‘Balloon Age’, out now on US psych label Beyond Beyond is Beyond, is a total blast – the sound of a band having fun with time-trapped influences without being trapped by them.

LOVE L.U.V

Sometimes, a band will come along that takes you right out of the now and into a moody, weird film set in the desert, and Love L.U.V. are one of that rarest of breeds. Their debut 7” single “Love El-You-Vee” came out on April 14th, and it’s one of the most infectious garage-pop stompers you’ll hear this year – or any year for that matter.

DJs (11pm-4am):

SUZIE GREENGRASS (Hidden Door)

PJ (Dirty Water)

MAGNETIC PAUL & PETE SOUNDS (96 Tears)
