WE USED TO MAKE THINGS
An 8 piece family with 3-part harmonies, fiery brass, big melodic pop-hooks and a thumping rhythm section.
Influenced by amongst others The Kinks, The Turtles, Fats Waller, The Specials they write songs that send you on a journey through the open-plan offices of disaffected middle-management and the yearnings of love lost and unrequited.
We Used to Make Things have built their reputation around playing ecclectic and energetic concerts. They beat 150 bands to reach the main stage of Standon Calling, and have played numerous stages including Ronnie Scotts, Cargo, Secret Garden Party and Bush Hall.
ALBERT MAN & HIS BAND
Albert Man, the half-German Mancunian, is a songwriter based in London performing a collection of piano-based, lyric-led melodic pop songs with strong narratives.
He sings and plays piano with his band – Demian Wieland on drums and Charlie Webb on bass & backing vocals delivering engaging live performances. A believer in 50’s rock and roll and 80’s Bowie, the music reflects his love of both. Dr. John and Tim Minchin have also both inspired humour in his lyrics and the piano-driven sound which accompanies them.
THE YES MESS
“The Yes Mess, an enigmatic, funky, hook laden five piece that rattle the same hallucinatory cages as the Beta Band at their oddest, with elements of Syd’s Pink Floyd in the mix.” (The Gladstone)
BOOTS
Performing In and around London with a loop pedal, guitar and a bag full of lyrics.
