Paper Dress Presents an evening of wonderful live music from our unique shop window stage in Hackney Central. On Friday 4 March we welcome…
TASHKEZAR
Tashkezar are also about shifting instruments and personnel – from three part vocal harmonies, to balkan brass lines and celtic inspired fiddle playing. They are about shifting perspectives and atmospheres – from wild floor shaking bass lines to delicately beautiful melodies.
Mariam Ali – vocals; Badger Brown – violin, backing vocals; Pavel Chartorizhsky – bouzouki; Maxime Rolaz – cajon, darbuka, frame drum; Raphael Bushman – electric bass; Sam Leon – bodhran, riqq, backing vocals; Tim Bamber – trombone, backing vocals
BELLA FIGURA
Hidden behind frontman’ bushy beard, Bella Figura play an intense sound that winks at 70’s and 90’s, well-structured and round.
2015 saw the London groove connoisseurs take part at Brighton’s Great Escape Festival, as well as Standon Calling & 2000 Trees Festival and release two critically acclaimed EP’s.
“Serious song-writing… Cerebral, poetic lyricism.” – CLASH
“Cool-breeze guitars, wood-smoked vocals.” – Q
“Superb… Neil Young would be proud.” – NME
BEN MURPHIE
Americana folk/blues by way of North London. Fingerpicked guitar and banjo melodies hammered out against country harmonies to make a sound rougher than bootleg whiskey and smoother than summer rain. Influences include Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Jack White, The Band.
DANIEL JONES – EAST LONDON BLUES
