MOD GENERATION ALLDAYER with PURPLE HEARTS (PH2) & DR BIRD live
We kick off at 5pm in the covered garden with DJ’s before we move upstairs to the club for the bands at 8pm, followed by DJ’s Dave Edwards, Rob Bailey, Andy Cooke & Gary Milan playing the sharpest Mod sounds until 3am.
The name Purple Hearts came from the amphetamine-barbiturate mixture popular with the mods of the 1960s. Formed in 1978, the Purple Hearts’ Mod punk rock sound similar to The Jam scored a minor hit with debut single, “Millions Like Us” before touring with Secret Affair and Back To Zero on ‘the march of the mods’ tour in 1979.
DR BIRD
London Mod Soul Poppers Dr Bird have been on the scene for the last six years. During that time they have released their debut “Part of my Plan” EP and a critically acclaimed sold-out album, “Bedtime Stories”; both on the Direct Records label.
