Paper Dress Live is very proud to host the unique synth romantics Minimal Schlager for their album release party !

Minimal Schlager

Based between Berlin and London, Minimal Schlager operate at the intersection between Italo-Disco, the darker corners of New Wave and various forgotten sounds picked up in the dive clubs of Berlin, a direct sweet spot directly between pure pop and haunting synth pop.

After having returned from performances at SXSW and shows in London, Paris and Berlin, the duo announced their debut album “Love, Sex & Dreams”, which was released on 9th September 22 via Berlin’s Duchess Box Records and was recorded at Impression Studio with producer Robbie Moore, who has also worked with the likes of Florence and the Machine.

Their synth heavy sound, layered with dreamy vocal pop, wouldn’t sound out of place on any David Lynch soundtrack, but club songs like Euphoria shows what a dynamically written album this is. “Love Sex & Dreams” is exactly what is written on the can. 2022 has seen the band performing in USA and throughout Europe, with over 25 dates in 7 countries.

Oliver Marson

British artist Oliver Marson blends music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s to create a catchy baroque pop sound lampooning the dark societal underbelly and unhinged capitalism, in the vein of The Divine Comedy, Serge Gainsbourg, Scott Walker, David Bowie, Neil Hannon, and Talk Talk. Marson’s music is vibrant, exuberant, and unpredictable; inspired heavily by the lyrical work of Alex Cameron in his parody of toxic masculinity, and also the work of Jonathan Bree, Kirin J Callinan, and more.

Hannah Hu

Hannah Hu is a Chinese British Singer-Songwriter from Bradford, West Yorkshire.

Graduating from Goldsmiths University in 2018 Hu has gone on to work with legendary British groups such as Primal Scream and The Specials, appearing as guest vocalist on The Specials 2021 album, Protest Songs 1924-2012.
