Matinée are an established four piece indie rock band in Italy but they have all now bravely flown their sunny nests to pursue their London rock n’roll dreams.
On UK soil the band has played live at many key London venues including Death Disco (Creation Records; Alan McGee’s night) and the 100 Club. Their love of UK music shines through after support slots with Razorlight, Mystery Jets, The Futureheads, The Wombats, Pete and the Pirates and British Sea Power.

‘The missing link between Prince, Talking Heads, and Q and Not U’…British/Nigerian singer/songwriter Yinka Oyewole carves out his own unique musical niche, adapting funk in a similar way to The Black Keys have adapted blues. Packed with insistent grooves, unrelenting hooks and super soulful vocals it’s music to be felt as well as heard.
Mr Yinka Oyewole’s influences include Sly Stone, David Bowie, Funkadelic and Elvis Costello. Yinka also draws upon his Nigerian heritage (very evident in the syncopated rhythms), weaving excellent storytelling with insistent grooves, unrelenting hooks and super soulful vocals!
