We’re back at Paper Dress Vintage for another late night party with grooves to make you move!
As usual Basement Tapes and Flying Mojito Bros DJs (Jack Sellen and Ben Chetwood) will be spinning some fine FUNK, SOUL, BLUES, MOTOWN, PSYCH, GARAGE, AFROBEAT, DISCO and much more throughout the night!
Plus live sets from:
The Higher Planes
The Higher Planes are a new old-fashioned folk rock and soul group based in South London. The sound is a blend of harmonious influences: The Rolling Stones, Aldous Huxley, CSN, Sly & The Family Stone, Kurt Vonnegut, The Beatles, The Staple Singers, it goes on. But the result is a hard edged folk-soul sound overlaid with a multi-layered and mesmeric sweetness in the vocals. The songs are reflections and questions posed on just what to make of the upside-down era in which we find ourselves, and serve as a reminder that despite our modern affectations, not a lot has changed since man first put hand to string.
Marine
With a soulful, powerful blend of intricate guitar parts, dextrously interwoven vocals and lyrics about mythical creatures, London-based all-female outfit M A R I N E are rather special. Get down for their superb and unique ‘fable electric’!
Raw Funk Maharishi
“What Herbie Hancock would sound like if he was a three piece band”
Plus our very own house band Basement Brothers will be performing live, this month opening up the night with a stripped back acoustic set of 60s and 70s covers, from The Doors, Marvin Gaye, The Allman Brothers and many more.
