We welcome new friends Pear o’Legs’ for their first show at Paper Dress. Here’s a few words about what they have planned..
We are a label, collective and community who aim to nurture the beautiful folk scene we have here in London.
This first show is going to be extra special as we’ve got the fantastic Teyr and, all the way from Bristol, Thornbridge.
Entry £5
Teyr
Forged amongst the hustle and bustle of North London’s folk scene, TEYR (“3” in the Cornish language) are a trio of formidable musicians who showcase the many sounds of the British Isles. With roots running from Ireland to Wales to Cornwall, James Gavin (guitar and fiddle), Dominic Henderson (uilleann pipes and whistles) and Tommie Black-Roff (accordion), the players thrive on close interplay and pushing the possibilities of acoustic music. Having met on the Trad music scene through late night sessions, each performer holds an intuitive sense of folk music, evident in their deft arrangements and compositions.
“The future of folk music is safe in the hands of young musicians like this.” Na-Mara

Thornbridge
Thornbridge simply make beautiful music, taking inspiration from the folk song tradition throughout the British Isles as well as more contemporary sources. The line-up of Barbara and Andy Rusbridge and Guy Hawthorn bring three quite different
voices together to make a distinctive “Thornbridge” sound that is rich and complex, injecting new life into old songs with expression, subtle harmony and gentle instrumentation. Their warm, inclusive performances tell the story in every song with passion and good humour in equal measure.
