The Misty
London-based four-piece. Singer is a fan of Brian Wilson, bassist is a fan of John Paul Jones, drummer is a fan of Kevin Parker, guitarist is a fan of Johnny Marr. Since it was too much hassle to get these four to form a supergroup they just took it upon themselves to try and emulate the resulting sound. They reportedly don’t show their faces to remain fair to the competition : “We’re all really good-looking so if we showed our faces we’d already be number one by now, which would make it a little less exciting.” The boys are elusive indeed, but you can catch them fairly regularly in pubs around North London, either playing or drinking, depending on the demand (or lack thereof).

FEZ’s blend of psychedelia, Jazz inflections and modern stylings doesn’t simply embrace nostalgia for a bygone era of music, but aims to reinterpret its essence through a modern lens. With an equal emphasis on songwriting, sonics and improvisation, every member is at the forefront of their sound.
