From beginnings as an acoustic duo in Sydney garages, The Wattles have grown into a distinctive alternative band, bringing both bedroom-lit vulnerability and catharsis to their visceral, big-hearted indie rock songs. At once nostalgic and fresh, The Wattles’ music blends soft indie stylings, grunge textures, and alt-rock energy. It’s shimmering, atmospheric, and unafraid of darker tones. Frontwoman Lucy’s songwriting turns unspoken conversations into important moments, notably on ‘The Wrong Idea’, a brooding rumination on consent that received extensive radio play in Australia.
Now based in Brighton, UK, The Wattles are heading north on their debut UK headline tour, joined by a lineup of incredible independent artists in each city.
