MA POLAINE’S GREAT DECLINE
https://www.facebook.com/mapolainesgreatdecline
Taking inspiration from the 1940’s jazz of Billie Holiday, the delta blues of Howlin’ Wolf, the genre sidestepping of Tom Waits, and with some good old-fashioned life experience, Ma Polaine’s Great Decline is a creative collection of songs that move from foot tapping abandon to subtle intensity.

The lyrics cover veiled tales of love, the joys & pains of the music world, and are told with melodic invention and an emotive vocal, all backed by gritty blues harp, a horn section from somewhere between Stax and vaudeville, accordion, guitar, piano, double bass and drums.

HARRIET STARLING & THE GOOD HONEYS

The band blend bluegrass, swamp blues and retro reworkings with heart breaker voices, intricate guitar and foot stomping mandolin. They’ll seduce you onto your feet and make you wanna shout, god dammit and sing along.

JOEL SARAKULA
https://www.facebook.com/JoelSarakula
Joel Sarakula is a singer with band who writes and performs retro-pop songs at the piano and guitar. Born in Sydney, Australia, and now based in London, he releases his debut album The Golden Age on 17 June, 2013, following a flurry of UK radio support for his singles Bohemian and I Will Deliver which racked up generous plays across BBC 6, BBC London, XFM, Q Radio and Absolute.

With personal tastes that also span the more avant-garde, in Zappa and Kate Bush, including Pop greats like Pulp and Elvis Costello, there are clear nods to contemporaries like Beck, Brendon Benson and Ben Kweller in terms of ambition and style. While performing live, Joel presents a show he describes as an authentic musical experience that straddles the spiritual and the profane. His years of touring worldwide make him an engaging performer and he will be touring this album later in 2013.
